Photoshop iPhone app

So Adobe has released a new Photoshop iPhone app and it’s one that will appeal to quite a few iPhone users and to me in particular. I’ve found that recently I’ve been more and more inclined to shoot with the one camera that I always have in hand, that happens to be my iPhone. It’s not the best quality camera and I can’t control the aperture of shutter speed or focus but it keeps me interested and looking at things in a photographic way. Then after the shot I can do a quick adjustment of the image to make it look respectable which is a nice trick for any image much less one done on a phone.

I’ve also recently reviewed another iPhone app, The Best Camera app so that leaves us in a great position to compare the two. But before we get into the comparisons lets take a minute to look over some of the cool features of the app.
+ You can take photos directly with the app or select any image you have on your phone
+ Share and save directly to your Photoshop.com account and your iPhone
+ Crop/Rotate/Flip
+ Exposure/Saturation/Tint/B&W
+ Sketch/Soft Focus
+ Lots of pre-packaged filters

It also has some cool features that are unique to this app and provide a nice feel, to make adjustments you slide your finger left or right. This makes for a very cool user experience and is perfectly matched to the iPhones touch interface. It make for a great application and one that will fit nicely in any iPhone users toolbox. There are a few drawbacks to the app from my perspective the main one being a lack of sharing with any site other then photoshop.com.

I believe these two apps though have some overlay in features they also compliment each other in great ways. When you want more control over the fine tuning of the changes made to your images the Photoshop app is the way to go. But when you want others to see your images and to share them with a community you just can’t go wrong with The Best Camera app. I’d say we have a tie and better then a tie we have a reason to use both apps, I’d recommend that you go pick them both up.
