Continuing with testing the Olympus E-P2 I’ve purchased a Nikon lens adapter, this allows me to attach all of the Nikon lenses I have to the Olympus. This is a pretty great feat in my book, it has allowed me to get into a new camera system but not feel forced to make a major investment in glass right away. As you can guess you do loose some functionality and you will have a hard time getting a really wide angle shots as you have to double the focal length so a 50mm becomes a 100mm due to sensor size. You also loose the auto focus system so remembering your chops for manual focus will help out here.
Nikon lenses however have a big advantage when compared to Canon while being used on the E-P2, this is because they have aperture rings on them still; that will allow you to change your aperture based on the scene unlike the Canon’s who can only shoot wide open. This is a big advantage but personally I have a lot more Canon glass so I still wanted the Canon adapter but this another reason for me to be looking into Nikon glass in the future.
Build of the adapter is better then Canon version I have, it seems to have a much more matte inside finish and I have not seen any ghosting. The lenses also mount and un-mount the adapter easily and without anything sticking or feeling tight like it did with the Canon version.
