It finally came and it looks good. Flickr updated the photo pages of it’s service giving you a bigger area for what matters most in your photography, the photo. It also streamlined some of the features that they have had all along and added some great additions which make the site even more fun to use. Lets dive into the changes -
On top of the big size change they have added two new features that I think are worth mentioning. First is the lightbox mode so you can see the image your looking at with a black background something that has been sorely missing. Second is the use of the left and right keys to move between pages in your photostream.
It’s a long time coming and I’m hopeful that this means Flickr will stop resting and start innovating again like they used to. Flickr is a great platform for you as a photographer to share your work with both the world and your friends but it’s been loosing out recently to FaceBook. Changes like these however will only help Flickr keep it’s users and draw in more users.
