12/30/10: Was the last day for getting your Kodachrome film processed, truly the end of an era. I know many of you have been like me shooting digital only for years but those who still shot film up until yesterday still had the option to shoot the age old Kodachrome.

I picked up a few new lenses lately that will be coming to the pages of Knowphoto. Look forward to the articles on both of these lenses, let me know if you want to know something specific -
Canon 50mm f 1.4
Zeiss 21mm f2.8
We are also working on some new pages that will allow us to profile some work from both my collection but also from some or your collections. Look for that in the coming months.

So over the last year or so I’ve been playing with rolling my own prints. I grew increasingly frustrated with both the quality of the prints some of my local printers were giving me and the inability to print something out quickly to get a feel for it. The solution was to go out and get a new photo printer. It have served me well and provided great prints and great frustration over the last year. Lately I’ve hit on a problem that I just found a solution to and thought it might be good to get the word out.
Hey all,
So I’ve been thinking we should put up a place to share user submitted photos, so I went ahead and set up a Flickr group where you can submit your photos. Once they are in the group they will automatically show up on in the slideshow on the User Photos page of Knowphoto and in the flick pool. Hope you enjoy this new feature, let me know if there is anything we can add to make the site more useful in the comments or by the Contact Us page under the about menu above.
Thanks,
Adam

So you’ve got your digital camera and you’ve shot a ton of pictures of everything from the kitchen sink to that pulitzer photo. But now your hard drive has failed and your wondering if that computer guy next door can fix it or at least get your images off the drive so you don’t loose them all. Luckily this has not happened to you today (we hope) and you’ve got options for keeping your images safe. You have options for how you back up so read on to find out what is the best option for you.

I’ve been playing more with the Olympus E-P2 in the last few days and shot some test video with it today. This is not meant to be high quality video as I wanted to see how far I could push the camera rather then to set it up to succeed. This was all shot at night, hand held at what I suspect is ISO 1600 or so, it also has moving objects, lots of low light and hard to focus on subjects.
I know there are a ton of great resources out there for photography, I wanted to take a few minutes to share some of the sites I find most useful. (These are in no particular order)
