In todays screencast I wanted to cover a simple but under used feature of Lightroom. Virtual Copies of your images allow you to keep multiple versions of the same image with different effects applied to each copy. The cool thing about this feature is you can store all the different iterations of your images with almost no overhead. This is made possible by Lightroom’s non-destructive workflow, each copy is just a new set of metadata not a completely new copy of the image. Your hard drive will thanks you
Great list by [Scott Kelby](http://l.knowphoto.com/1k) on 10 things to do when your a new lightroom user to make sure you get the most out of the program.
Recently I’ve started to want more portability in the way that I work photographically and that meant that I needed Lightroom to move seamlessly between my desktop and my laptop. This proved to be move of a challenge then I thought, it wasn’t that I couldn’t make it work, rather that there were trade offs to making it work. It seemed most solutions were less them optimal but I’ll cover them all here and you tell you what I ended up doing.

Today were talking about ligthroom presets. They are a very powerful and easy way to speed up your editing. To do this you should pick a well exposed image and apply “global” adjustments to the image. Once you have the global adjustments done you create your preset, then your just one step away from applying that preset to any image you want.
